International GCSE History - Getting Ready to Teach

This face to face training event is designed for International GCSE History teachers.

Delegates will:

- Receive an overview of the structure and content of the qualification

- Learn about the differences between the new International GCSE from 2013 and the current International GCSE from 2009

- Look at example assessment materials

- Address frequently asked question

This face to face training event is designed for International GCSE English Language teachers.

Module 1: Form, Audience and Purpose in Writing

The purpose of this event is to:

• Ensure delegates have a clear understanding of audience and purpose in writing responses

• Provide advice on techniques for developing better understanding of audience and purpose in writing

• Understanding Assessment

• Promote confidence and good practice in teaching and assessment for this specification.

Module 2: Reading and Responding to Unseen Text

The purpose of this event is to:

• Ensure delegates have a clear understanding of ways to read

and respond to unseen texts

• Provide advice on techniques for developing better reading

and understanding of unseen texts

• Understanding Assessment

• Promote confidence and good practice in teaching and assessment for this specification.

Time

Please arrive at 9:45 am. The session will be held from 10am to 4 pm with one hour break for lunch.
